Heroin recovery question?

How long does it take for a person to regain normal energy after quitting heroin? Also, how long to feel normal eating and sleeping habits?

Detoxing from heroin is a difficult undertaking. Heroin attacks the brain of the user and tries to convince them that they must use.

Major symptoms from heroin withdrawal are usually done within two weeks of last use, but for some people it may take a month or more.

The symptoms you’re describing are more subtle and could take quite a bit longer to recover from. Low energy could be caused by nutritional deficiencies while heroin was being used and might require a significant change in diet to regain energy.

Sleep issues are often the most difficult to treat because so many factors can contribute to sleep disturbances. Anxiety and stress often occur and can cause sleep problems for months.

I would recommend going to a doctor or a free clinic for a complete physical exam and for medical support to go through heroin withdrawal successfully. Tell the doctor about the symptoms so that each issue can be addressed and treated.

Heroin addiction is a very difficult disease and relapse is a VERY common part of the disease. Getting support for withdrawal symptoms can help avoid relapse and can truly get the person addicted to heroin on a track to a full recovery.

Good Luck!

Debbie
