Husband of 16 years drug addict

My husband is a good kind man however he has been plagued by mental abuse from his controlling psycho mother all his life. He turned to drugs at 18 to escape and was a on again off again for years. At the age of 29 he was not on any drugs when we married and when we had a baby two yrs later.

He met a Russian prostitute drug addict when my baby was just 5 mos old and it was her that pulled him back in. I should've left him then but didn't mainly since I was a new mom and was fearful of not being able to raise the baby on my own since my company just laid me and others off.

I also loved him very much and have been compassionate to him because of his crazy life. He has been struggling ever since. His wonderful mother decided she no longer wanted to control him when he was having drug issues mainly cause she didn't want to financially support him so she moved to another state.

I sent him to her several times over the years since. I spent much money on sending him away to clean him up and he would be ok for awhile and would start up again. I just can't cope with it anymore. I am getting older and my child is getting older and I don't want my child to see what is happening.

He is in the methadone program and uses heroin and more recently he has joined the trend of popping Xanax. He is so high sometimes he can't keep his eyes open. I find myself baby-sitting him so he doesn't fall asleep while smoking, etc and or overdose. I just can't cope with it anymore. I have severe sense of guilt that I am abandoning him but he is being selfish and not thinking of us.

I need to keep working in order to continue paying the bills and need to focus on my daughter. I am exhausted and cannot take care of him. I need him out. If I do a restraining order I am so afraid he will go nuts and do something either bad to me or himself. I also am afraid he will go to my child's school where he is very friendly and respected by most of the staff and administration and I don't want them to know what is going on for both my child's sake and his.

Kids can be cruel too and if they find out it can become bad for my child in school. He is In severe need of mental help. His mother has really messed him up and he also has A.D.D. I sent him to a detox in Palm Beach, they claim they detox for methadone and they were full of it.

They took his prescribed methadone away from him when he arrived and gave him lithium. He had seizures and an allergic reaction to it. He had to be rushed to emergency since they had no doctor on site. His counselor in the methadone program said he is crazy. Methadone addicts need to be weaned off.

That facility was horrible. What would be ideal is a detox facility that does treat/wean patients off methadone while providing mental therapy.

Does anyone know of such a place?
