Go to your local hospital

by: Debbie Wicker

Dear Yvonne,

You need medical attention and support. Alcohol detox can be deadly and you need medical support to go through it.

I HIGHLY recommend that both you and your son go to you local emergency room and get admitted for drug and alcohol detoxification. That has got to be your first step toward getting out of the hole that you’re both in.

Alcohol addiction re-wires your brain and that’s why alcohol detox can be so difficult. When you stop drinking you’re brain tries to adjust back to the way it was before you started drinking. That’s why you and your son need to go to the hospital for immediate medical support to stop drinking alcohol.

Addiction to other drugs complicates withdrawal, so when your go to the ER be HONEST about everything you have been taking so that they can help you to map out your treatment plan correctly.

Good luck, there is always hope!

Debbie
