New Day Treatment Center

by Anna

At New Day Treatment Center, we understand your everyday hardship. Dealing with addiction is a 24 hour job. Our experienced and credentialed medical and counseling staff are ready to help you. Scientific studies have now amply shown that addiction to opioids is a chronic relapsing brain disease. This means for many addicts it is a lifelong condition just like diabetes or hypertension. Study after study has shown that methadone maintenance has provided the highest level of success in restoring people to productive normal lives. Our treatment philosophy is to focus on stabilizing our patients medically on the optimum methadone dose and psychosocially through counseling, in order to help stop the craving – so, we can stop the cycle of addiction.

Addiction becomes addiction when someone who has developed a physiologic dependence on a opioid drug, intentionally for its euphoric affects or inadvertently through medically prescribed “pain killers”, begins abusing the drug by taking more and more in order to achieve the same affect (i.e. euphoria or “high”). This is because the body develops a tolerance to the opioid. At some point bad decisions are made that the individual knows are wrong and harmful, but are made anyway. This starts with spending all their money and selling all their possessions and ends with losing all friends and family. Along the way jobs and homes are lost and trouble with the law occurs.Ironically, it is not so much the “high” from drugs that the addict seeks, it is the prevention of the symptoms of withdrawal and the drug cravings that drives him or her to do what they do. By joining our program and stabilizing on methadone maintenance, the addict can shed the addiction and return to a “normal” life. By feeling normal and functional, time and attention can then be devoted to “rebuilding” a productive and happy life.

New Day Treatment Center programs also include; education on the disease of addiction, developing personalized recovery plans. At New Day Treatment Center, we believe that counseling is a very important aspect of treatment. Receiving counseling and treatment fits together like a puzzle to ensure the success of your treatment.

HI-

Thank you for the information. It is so strange that I would get this information at this time. My son who is 27 years old has been a drug addict for 13 years. In the last five years or so he was heavily into opiates.

Nov. 2009 he got out of jail - a prison boot camp. He came and lived with us. Prior to that he had lived with his girlfriend for about 5 years.

He seemed to be doing good until June when he relapsed on cocaine. He had hallucinations and thought someone was after him and trying to get in the house. We were away and our neighbor called us and we had to come home 3 1/2 hours from a family visit.

From then on it seemed to go down hill until he got arrested in Sept., 2010 for driving under the influence of drugs. So, now he is jail again.

Can you please tell me where your centers are located?

Thanks-Lynettte
