Al-anon can help you to make the correct choice

by: Debbie Wicker

So sorry to hear about your struggles with your husband’s addiction to crack cocaine. It is often very difficult the choose the best course of action when addiction is involved.

I would highly recommend you begin attending Al-anon meetings in our area. Al-anon meetings will help you to understand your husband’s addiction better, and also help you to decide what you need to do to help you and your husband make the right choices to end his addiction.

Addiction is a disease of the brain, and it is common for the addict to blame others for their very poor choices.

Hopefully, once you are regularly attending meeting, your husband will be willing to begin attending meetings too. He has a much better chance of recovery if he is attending 12 step meetings, working the steps and listening to his sponsor. There is an old saying that I believe:

The 12 steps work if you work them!

Here is a website you can visit to find Al-anon meetings in your area:

Good luck and hopefully you will get the help you need soon,

Debbie
