Effectivness of rehab clinics?

How effective are rehab clinics, do they work, are they worth the time and money? How can I choose one?

18 yr old-let return home?

Adderall addiction-(and a lot use of Alcohol and MJ)went through 45 days rehab 6 months ago and 2 weeks which she signed herself out of because she was 18 and all about being 18.

I told her she could not return home is she did not complete rehab. She signed herself out and was going to hitch hike home. My ex-husband who has been totally not involved in her life picked her up.

She has lived w/ him for 2 weeks. I think she is safer w/ him as he lives in middle of no where and she can not be by her user friends very easily and has a suspended driver's license.

My struggle is whether to let her return home as she wants to. What is love or loving behavior. She says she is very hurt that I won't let her come home and her brother lives here.

She does not want to be w/ me. No 18 yr old wants to be w/ her Mom. She wants a social life. Which I feel bad for her not having. Her dad is also a very poor example of anything to her but she is an adult and will have to figure that out on her own.

I like seeing her and feel mean not letting her come home. I don't want her to never talk to me again. I continue to talk to her and am willing to drive her some places- last drive she refused to talk to me as I wouldn't let her come home.

She can be very rude to me and is frequently angry at me. Is it wrong of me to not let her come home and do whatever she wants as that is what she has done in the pastas she is 18 yrs old.

Is it more loving to try to control her and let her be safe at her Dad's or bring her home so she can be w/ her user friends?

Explain logic.

What happens after rehab?

My 21 years old son used almost all street drugs such as cocaine, met. acid bath salt pot LSD and alcohol. He is currently in rehab and will be coming home in 3 weeks.

He stopped using alcohol and drugs including cigarette for almost 3 months before going to rehab He picked up smoking in rehab and lied to me about it in 3 occasions.

He is tricking me into giving him money for snack when I know very well he is going to buy cigarettes with it. He has attended AA, NA and CA meetings and also has a sponsor before going into rehab.

I came to know about his addiction because someone he was doing drugs with passed away in Feb. this year.

I do not trust him and am worried about having him live with me. I am his only support but I am scared to death.

My son is on heroin

My 21 yr old son admitted last night that he is on heroin.Wwe saw "track" marks on his arm. he says that he wants help but, will not go into inpt rehab & will not talk to a "crazy" dr. (psycharist).

I am a nurse & have some resources available.we have good health insurance. i am not sure what the next step is or should be. My son has a 1 yr old daughter, he is not working & looks like a concentration camp refugee.

I am scared for him.

As far as i know, there has been no treatment attempts made. i personally want to just go "take" him out of his apt & drag him kicking & screaming to a rehab center. (although, i beleive the law says i can't do this) he is my son & his family loves & cares about him very much.

He has had 2 open heart surgeries 4 yrs ago. I have tried to research this drug on the internet & researching treatment centers as well. i can find alot of information about the drug however, its hard to find out much/any information about any treatment centers.

Please help me (my son) with any information of what the 1st step should be? do i take him to a family dr & go from there or what?

ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN PROVIDE TO OUR FAMILY WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

I do not want to have to bury my youngest son because of an overdose. Omgosh, what would i tell his 1yr old daughter? this is breaking my heart, i have not slept or eaten since he has told me this. i am thinking that him telling me this is the 1 STEP in asking for help?

Daughter's boyfriend using heroin?

I just found out yesterday that my daughter's boyfriend has been using heroin for a little under a year. I do not have a lot of the details but she has told me that he wasn’t using too often and that he is detoxing now at home (well, supposedly at his dad's home).

She said he went yesterday to get paperwork and he has an appointment Tuesday for an assessment, then will start some type of counseling where he goes every day for 3 to 5 hours. I just know so little about this and am wondering if this all sounds correct?

I worry for my daughter even though she has told me that he is not staying at the house with her and their son anymore. I am just praying that she is not being naive about it all and have suggested to her that she, or we, go to al-anon. Is this something that could benefit her? We are in the Cincinnati, Ohio area.

She has asked me not to talk to anyone about this(family wise) so I feel I have nobody to turn to for answers. Not even sure family could help me out on this one though :(

Husband using meth wants to come back?

My husband went into treatment for meth use- although now he denies ever using it. He blames it all on alcohol and even has his family fooled that it was meth. He somehow changed his discharge paperwork to read that his primary addiction was alcohol, not meth. I even called the police to take him in while he was tweaking. He was badly burned trying to steal our own propane from our tank- I guess to cook his own meth.

To make a long story short- I filed for divorce- in safety of our three year old daughter that almost stumbled across his stash that he left in our bathroom. He begs for me back and swears if I don't take him back- he will get sole custody of our child.

My son of 26 years is a heroin user?

My son of 26 years is a heroin user although not sure how much he uses, probably not daily. He went to prison for one year in 2008 for ABH (used to drink a lot but now doesn't drink much at all) and since out of prison things have gone down hill, he hasn't been able to get a job and is living on benefit. Before prison always worked.

He probably has some underlying mental health distress, very depressed at the moment. I need to know what options there are for treatment, detox, support help groups, all in Brighton and Hove.

Possibilities also for psychiatric assessment and therapy through G.P. He doesn't qualify for CRHT support, but most certainly does for a psychiatric assessment. Is this via G.P?

Want to try drugs.

Mom & brother have both used for years and gone through bad stuff. They both got addiction problems from using. I have been with them through all of it and still not tried.

I've always wanted to & I'm really exposed to it. I just want to try something natural like weed & experience getting high. I'm just scared I will get addicted even though I've been strong enough to stay away this long.

They've gone through it all already, but it's my turn & I don't want to feel bad for trying weed. Do you think I would become addicted?

I do have an addictive personality & a little bit of repetitive OCD type thinking..please tell me what you think.

Fake pot?

Is fake pot bad? My ex-husband uses. I see the same as if hes doing real pot.
