Symptoms of withdrawal?

I am a Psychology student and I have a questions on Withdrawal.


Are symptoms of withdrawal likely to be equally severe among those with low, moderate or high levels of drug tolerance? Or does tolerance have anything to do with how severe the withdrawal will be?



I would think that it doesn't matter your tolerance to the drug, but how long you have been using.

Do you know the answer to this question? I cannot find information about who might be affected more severally with withdrawal.

Doctor is a Drug Dealer

The addicted person's doctor prescribes narcotics for pain & has been told that the patient abuses the morphine & other drugs he has prescribed.

I am the addicted person's care taker (for want of a better description); I am 78 and in pain myself which I just live with.

We are in PA and I need to know where to go for help. How much morphine does it take to kill a person. So far this person has taken 10, 60 mg of morphine in a 24 hour period but no longer has possession of the drug.

And why don't the police shut down these pain management doctors as all they are legalized drug dealers?

Heroin addiction ruining my family, HELP!

Hello, my name is Cheryl and my life is a huge mess, my boyfriend's (of 4 years) son and his son's girlfriend are addicted to heroin and Brian (my boyfriend) let them move in, and I am ready to leave him because of it.

OK, Brian needs help because his son has come in our home and has stolen money, and tools, and just about he can get money for.

Brian isn't seeing it he's blaming me and I am about ready to pop. The two kids steal everything and are pan handling. They spend all the time doing drugs in the bathroom, and that's ok with Brian.

Oh God please help my boyfriend Brian so he can help his son, CLB.

Suspect daughter and boyfriend of drugs

My daughter (23) has been living with her boyfriend for the past 2 years, in which time she has steadily withdrawn from us and her siblings.

She has lost 2 jobs within the last 2 years, and her and her boyfriend will disappear for 2-3 days at a time. They shun all contact - don't answer calls, don't keep appointments and generally keep to themselves all the time.

When confronted about our suspicions she is hard, calculating and deceitful. We want them to reach out and look for help, or to speak to us.

How do we approach this without having them withdraw even more?

Son is a drug addict?

My son is 32 years old and a drug addict he says he is not but he has over dosed 4 times in the last 2
years.

I do not know how to make him see what he is doing to himself and the family I can not help him.

Please help me help him!

He has recently agreed to me asking him some "probing questions" regularly, to help him stay on
top of things.
