What does it cost to do an intervention?

by Sam

How much would it cost to send a family member to an intervention? My family member is hooked on synthetic weed.

Thank you!

Interventions are usually done at home.

Dear Sam,

So very sorry to hear that your family member is addicted to marijuana. Many, many families are faced with this issue and getting the addict into treatment is critical.

An intervention is usually done in your home and not something you send an addict to. Usually, an intervention is done because the addict is completely unwilling to go into treatment to end their addiction. The intervention is done to persuade the addict to go into treatment.

In my experience, the most successful interventions are done in conjunction with the treatment center that the addict will ultimately go into. It is usually best to work the treatment center and have them help you with the intervention. Generally, the cost of the intervention is included as part of the cost of the treatment and would therefore be paid for by their medical insurance.

If the addict is a minor, an intervention may not be necessary but can help them to realize the importance of doing their best while they’re in treatment.

Hope that answers your question,

Debbie
