Where can I find help in Springfield Massachusetts?

by Jacqueline

Do you have a place in Springfield Ma? Would there be an affective way to get him to go? He needs help before its too late. He’s only 36.

Lots of help available in your area

by: Debbie Wicker

Dear Jacqueline,

Help is available in your area and it is almost never too late. I don’t know a lot about your situation but it sounds like you need to find a good treatment center and have them help you to get this man into treatment.

Finding a good treatment center for him in your area involves getting connected into the local treatment community. If you live in the Springfield MA. area, then I recommend you join Al-anon there. The people you’ll meet at Al-anon will know a lot about what’s available and should be able to direct you to good treatment centers in your area.

Also, going to the Al-anon meetings will educate you about addiction so that you can be as helpful as possible but not enable his addiction.

Another approach for finding him the help he needs is to call the hospital in his area and tell them the situation. The hospital should be able to refer you to good treatment centers in your area. Also, depending on what drug/drugs he is using they may also recommend medical detox and have you bring him to the ER for treatment.

Don’t try to do an intervention yourself, get the help of a professional because they know exactly what to do to get him to come into treatment.

Good Luck,

Debbie
