You are not alone.

by Taylor M
(Bellevue WA )

I'm 15 years old. I started smoking marijuana at age 14. I moved from a small town where no one even thought of doing drugs and made a transition to a city where drugs were everywhere. I knew that it was all around me and I told myself I wouldn’t get sucked in.

Well, 3 months later I was smoking pot under a bridge with some people I barely knew. The first time nothing really happened. I was glad I didn’t experience the pot. I thought maybe it didn’t affect me. But the next time I was smoking it again with the same people in the same place.

The first hit of my second time was mesmerizing, and unforgettable. I started to feel all fuzzy, my head got heavy, but when I walked I felt light. I was suddenly happy. I thought to myself "wow I’ve been missing out on a lot."

This became a daily habit. I was smoking pot all the time. One day in school I met a guy who wasn’t like all the other stoners. I had heard of this kid. He was into the more hard-core kind of stuff. We made friends and we had a class together.

One day in class he handed me a small blue pill with a small imprint of a dolphin on it. I asked what it was? He said it would make me feel good and with that said I popped the small blue pill.

About 45 minutes I had realized I was high as a kite and asked the kid what he had given me. He said ecstasy, I was too high to care. I knew one thing though… I liked it and I liked it a lot.

I continued to get E from this kid. It was a lot more expensive than pot, but I didn’t care. I was hooked instantly. I later got help when I realized I had a major problem and I got clean thanks to a loving man, the love of my life, and my soul mate.

My life is good, and I’m happy and healthy. You may feel alone and scared in this big old world, but remember, there are people to help you.
