Just found out husband using crack?

by Debra

I just found out that my husband is using crack. I need someone to talk to, in my area (San Leandro CA) regarding this big issue. Impact on our lives. I would like to find someone to get started with me right away!

Start with Al-anon or Celebrate Recovery
by: Debbie Wicker

Dear Debra,

So sorry that you found out about your husband's drug abuse. Crack is a highly addiction and a very harmful drug. If your husband is addicted to it, then you need to understand that addiction is a disease of the brain, which can often be fatal if left untreated.

I have two recommendations for you. Consider attending Al-anon meetings and/or Celebrate Recovery meetings in your area. Both will help you to understand your husband's drug abuse issues. The meetings will also help you to consider the best course of action to take, in the hopes of helping your husband to recover from his drug abuse and to minimize, as much as possible, the negative impact on your family.

Your husband should begin attending Cocaine Anonymous (CA) ASAP if he is willing. CA uses the 12-step program and will teach him, if he is willing, how to move into recovery and stop using crack.

Good Luck,

Debbie
