My fiancé and I are drug addicts.

(USE)

I don't know what else to say. I love him and I always will. By the grace of God. Any advice? I'm honestly good and so is he when we smoke loud though.

You both need support to withdraw saftly and quit.
by: Debbie Wicker

Addiction grabs us by the throat and won't let go, often before we even realize we have a problem. It's a HUGE problem and not something I have a quick fix for, but I do have a few suggestions for you to try:

- Start going to 12 step meetings in your area ASAP, daily if possible. The 12 steps work if you work them. Research has show over and over again the going to meetings and working the stops can help to end addiction and the meetings are free and confidential.

- Get clean yourself first if your fiancé is unwilling to stop or go to meetings with you.

- Once you're through the withdrawal processes safely, hopefully he will become motivated to also go through the steps.

- Quitting as a couple is OFTEN much more difficult (you each "trigger" the other to use), so you may have to separate for a while until you're both free from addiction

Please remember that addiction is a disease of the BRAIN and is often fatal is left untreated. Please help yourself and your fiancé to move past this terrible illness so that you can life the happy joyous and free life you both want.

Debbie
