Niece is on heroin?

Niece is on heroin and stealing from family to pawn items to get money. We’ve talked to her and she lies about it all.
I’ve thought of getting police involved but can’t do it. She has been kicked out of other family homes.

Tough Love
The police may be just the people you need to save her life. It’s time to get the family together and have a serious talk. She can’t just behave badly and be allowed to get away with it. I don’t blame anybody for throwing her out, but the bottom line here is she needs treatment, and you have to do something. Having her arrested might just be what she needs to get treatment. Believe it or not, some people have benefitted from time in jail, so your neice probably needs a good firm hand here. Call Al-Anon and get their take on it. I have the feeling the poilice could be your best friends. |
