Dear Kris,

So glad that your daughter has agreed to begin attending 12 step meetings to help her with her addiction. I would recommend you also attend meetings with her because research has shown that if her family attends meetings with her, then her chances for recovery significantly improve.

I would recommend that you attend Celebrate Recovery, which is a recovery program created by Saddle Back church. It is now offered all around the country and is a excellent program to help your daughter to end her addiction. It will also help you to heal the wounds that the addiction has caused you. There is a meeting Friday night right in your area:

Lake Forest

Saddleback Church

1 Saddleback Parkway, Lake Forest, CA 92630

Friday 7:00-9:00 PM

Otherwise I would recommend AA meetings, but you may have to try a few different meeting until you find one that both you and your daughter like. Meetings at churches are often your best bet because they are confidential and usually well run.
