Harm to baby?

My husband was an ex drug addict for 10 years and seeked help before i met him and has been clean for 2 and a half years now.

All I’m asking if we start making a baby is there any risk for the baby to be a carrier to any disease or any chromosomatic difficiency to my child or any necessary tests to be made before making or having the baby.

Dear Mervat,
Depending on the drugs he used and the extant to which he used them, I am not at all certain that would have a lingering effect. Alcohol, however, could have caused health concerns, but again I do not know if it’s something that would give you cause for concern on your pregnancy. It is always good to ask questions and have a thorough medical exam and do some planning. I would advise that you both sit down with your doctor and talk about this.
