Help for my sister?

Hi, my 27 year old sister currently has a drug issue and is the mother of a 4 year old and 1 year old which she is currently neglecting.
I’m pretty sure she is taking speed. She doesn’t think she has a problem and am looking at doing an intervention but am needing some help with that.
Just wondering if you could let me know what you guys actually do and can help with etc.

A Family Plan
One of the first things to do to help your sister is to get the entire family together and have a meeting. You all need to be a part of the plan to get her into treatment and a solid recovery program. There are all kinds of places to go and interventions can get to be expensive, so you might want to turn to Al-Anon and get their take on it for starters. If you want to move forward and desire professional help and guidance, our colleague Joe Herzanek (303-775-6493) has vast experience in this area. His book “Why Don’t They Just Quit?” is an excellent source of information and wisdom. You can sit down with someone at a local drug treatment center and get their advice as well. Make sure the kids are safe. Do they have a father? Your sister will steadfastly deny a problem. That’s part of the disease, so don’t believe her, just keep plugging away. You can make a difference. |

Don’t give up
His family ARE ALL WILLING TO HELP… I must not be doing something right, because its SO HARD to find someone or someplace to help. The only way they can/will help is if “the user” is willing to get help. I have not stopped searching. Don’t give up on your sister or your neice. Good luck with everything!! remember… DONT GIVE UP!! |
