A friend of mine recently went through treatment for substance abuse. Although she’s grateful to be clean and happy to be home, readjusting has been a bit of a struggle; there’s a stigma about addiction in our community, so not all of our neighbors have welcomed her back with open arms.
I’m doing what I can to be a supportive friend, but the apathy from our neighbors has been weighing on me and I wanted to make a bigger impact. I decided to put together some resources about addiction and recovery and distribute them to promote knowledge and understanding of this complicated disease. Would you be interested in sharing them with your audience, maybe here: https://www.drug-addiction-support.org/Al-Anon.html?
