Understanding Addiction

A friend of mine recently went through treatment for substance abuse. Although she’s grateful to be clean and happy to be home, readjusting has been a bit of a struggle; there’s a stigma about addiction in our community, so not all of our neighbors have welcomed her back with open arms.

I’m doing what I can to be a supportive friend, but the apathy from our neighbors has been weighing on me and I wanted to make a bigger impact. I decided to put together some resources about addiction and recovery and distribute them to promote knowledge and understanding of this complicated disease.
