Addicted to Di-Phenhydramine

Silly question but can someone be addicted to Tyneol PM and like drugs?

I have a friend who takes 6 – 8 Excedrin PM, or some form of sleep aid daily.

Can someone be addicted to this drug and what should be her next step?

Over The Counter Doesn’t Mean Harmless

Taking that many sleep aid over-the-counter pills is certainly cause for concern.

Just because it’s sold in the corner drug store without a prescription doesn’t mean a person can’t abuse it, or get into trouble with it.

If they drank a six-pack of beer every day, perfectly legal, but that too would be problematic.

Assuming they take that many pills every day, what is the impact?

Has there been any change in their behavior?

Are there any underlying health issues?

Look for signs of addiction, such as changes in routine daily activities, weight loss or gain, change in sleep habits, loss of interest in activities, not seeing their friends, etc.

Sooner or later, the drug’s addictive effect is going to take over.

Non-prescription medicine is not harmless.
