How can I quit?

One of my intimate friends is addicted to drugs(pain killer). He’s been using for about 8 years. Started off just to get high on occasional days. But now he depend totally on it.

He knows the results to come, does wanna quit, but he couldn’t quit even if he try because he’s afraid of the withdrawal symptoms he has suffered b4. He’s using drugs now not to get high but it become a part of him.

Moreover one problem is that he doesn’t wanna let his parents know of it.

SO WHOEVER KNOW SOME SOLUTION, PLEASE GIVE US AN ADVICE ABOUT THIS N HELP US. We are in desperate need of your advice. Thanks

There are so many people who start out on drugs just to get high, but wind up being dependent and using every day because they have to just to feel normal. Here are some resources:

The important thing is for you to encourage your friend to seek treatment. His parents should be allowed to know that their son is in trouble. Maybe they can help get him the medical help he needs. He is going to have a very difficult, if not impossible time, trying to quit on his own. It is going to take a professional effort to help him. He needs to know that. When he says he will do it on his own he is only deceiving himself.

You need to guide him into treatment and take care of this before it destroys his life.
