Is there a support group in upstate New york near Watertown or Syracuse? My daughter's husband was injured in Iraq and he is taking many prescription pain pills and I think he is addicted.

AA in Every Community
by: Ned Wicker

Let your fingers do the walking and you'll find an Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous or an Al-Anon meeting in just about every community in the country. They all have listings on their websites and should be easy to find.

It's important to try a few different meetings until you find one the suits you and also meetings your needs. Al-non is just as important for your daughter and AA or NA is for her husband. The more she learns about addiction the more help she will be to her husband.

Addiction affects the entire family and the entire family needs to learn how to combat the awful disease.

You might also find that Al-anon meetings would help you to understand what you're dealing with. The mmore you know the better support you will be to your daughter and her husband.
