We’ve created a Live Drug Use Map.

by Andre

Hi,

Your article, Drug Addiction: Marijuana is really an eye-opener to know the harmful effects of marijuana if used frequently as it affects the motor functions of our body. As you’d said, Marijuana addiction can lead to a tolerance to the psychoactive effects of the THC, and the user may look for stronger drugs to get high.

In relation to your article, my team created Live Drug Use Map http://www.rehabs.com/explore/live-drug-use-map/, a study on the frequency of marijuana use, other illicit drug use and binge drinking in the United States.

The project offers a glimpse at which state has a higher percentage of use. Did you know that California for instance, the first state to legalize the recreational use of the drug has the highest at .98 seconds!

I think your insight would make for a great piece. Would you be interested in covering this?

Best,
Andre

Very interesting information

by: Debbie Wicker

Dear Andre,

I guess it shouldn’t surprise us that if you legalize a drug then usage is likely to increase. The sad fact is that somehow many people are of the opinion that marijuana is a “safe” drug and that it isn’t armful or addictive. They are wrong on all counts.

Marijuana, as with all drugs, is a drug that effects each of us uniquely. For those predisposed to mental health issues it seems to be particularly harmful. This particularly true if taking other psychotropic medications with it.

Thanks so much for you research and for creating such an informative infographic.

Debbie
