Heroin Overdose

Heroin overdose is potentially life-threatening, as heart rate and respiratory distress come into play. To counteract the effects of the heroin, medical professionals may use an opiate antagonist, such as naloxone or nalorphine to save the person’s life. The drug reverses the depressed respiration caused by the heroin.
