Easy answer STOP USING !

by: Debbie Wicker

It may sound very harsh but when you say your daughter doesn’t know what to do with her heroin addiction there is a VERY easy yet difficult answer to that question:

Your daughter needs to stop using heroin IMMEDIATELY!

That sounds so obvious but it’s really the only answer you can give her. Heroin is a disease of the brain that attacks the brain and convinces us that we MUST use! Your daughter has to stop using so that she can allow her brain to heal and return to as it was before she started using.

Take her to a doctor and they can give her medications to ease the withdrawal symptoms. Also, both of you should begin working the 12 steps. Go to an Al-anon meetings with her starting TODAY and both of you can begin working the steps together.

Don’t let her say no to going to meetings because that is likely an excuse for her to continue to use. You can learn how to love her but HATE her addiction at Al-anon so that you don’t enable her use in ANY way.

Heroin addiction is a mental disease that if left untreated is often fatal. That is the reality of what you and your daughter are dealing with. You need to learn how to help her to fight this terrible disease and Al-anon is the best place to do that.

If your daughter truly doesn’t know what to do with her addiction, you can learn and then help her make the right choices as quickly as possible to save her life.

You’re in a difficult spot, but your love for your daughter may be the only thing that will save her from the consequences of this terrible disease.

Good luck and please go to an Al-anon meeting today,

Debbie
